Brighton & Hove Albion Women have confirmed their squad list for the 2025/26 season, and Chiamaka Nnadozie has been handed the prestigious No.1 shirt — www.isagoal.com reports.
The Nigerian international moved to the South Coast during the summer after completing a free transfer from Paris FC, according to the club’s official website.
Her new number is a clear signal that the 24-year-old Super Falcons star is set to start the season as Brighton’s first-choice goalkeeper.
“Wearing the No.1 shirt is always a big responsibility, and Nnadozie looks ready to take that challenge,” a Brighton insider remarked.
Nnadozie’s career already boasts World Cup appearances, Olympic games, UEFA Women’s Champions League football, and Women’s Africa Cup of Nations triumphs.
Her experience and calm presence between the posts are seen as vital to strengthening Brighton’s defense this campaign.
The former Rivers Angels shot-stopper joined pre-season training later than her teammates after being granted extra rest following her heroics at the WAFCON.
She was key to Nigeria’s title run, keeping four clean sheets and helping her country defeat Tunisia, Botswana, Algeria, and Zambia on the way to lifting the trophy.
If she debuts this weekend against Aston Villa, Nnadozie will join fellow Nigerians Asisat Oshoala and Toni Payne in representing the Super Falcons in the Women’s Super League.
