Chelsea have decided to keep their manager Graham Potter, despite the team’s 1-0 defeat to Southampton last weekend and ongoing protests from fans.
Potters predecessor Thomas Tuchel was sacked not long ago even though he won 3 trophies during his time with Chelsea.
Potter was previously known for his work with Swedish side Ostersund, as well as Swansea in the Championship where he achieved three promotions and won the Swedish Cup.
He also famously led a Europa League tie victory against Arsenal in 2018, although Arsenal progressed on aggregate.
After a successful start under Potter at Chelsea with three consecutive Premier League wins, the team has won just two Premire League games since mid-March.
After being booed off by the fans following Saturday’s loss, Potter showed understanding to their frustrations and promised he will try hard to turn things around.
Now the pressure is on him and his team: they face a tough trip to Tottenham in their upcoming game next week, and they must start winning if Potter is to remain at Chelsea’s helm.
