Chelsea set a UEFA Conference League record with an emphatic 8-0 win over Armenian side FC Noah at Stamford Bridge on Thursday.
They dominated from the outset, scoring six goals by halftime, with João Félix and Christopher Nkunku each netting twice.
Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Axel Disasi, and Mykhailo Mudryk added the other goals, making it the largest margin of victory in the competition’s history, surpassing the previous record of six goals.
The match began with an early flurry of goals.
Adarabioyo opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a header from a corner, followed by Guiu intercepting a poor defensive pass to make it 2-0.
Disasi then tripled the lead with another header from a corner, and Félix made it 4-0 by finishing a pass from Enzo Fernández.
Mudryk’s brilliant curled shot in the 39th minute added a fifth, and Félix netted his second just before halftime.
Chelsea eased off in the second half, but Nkunku still managed a brace.
He scored his first in the 69th minute after a rebound and added a second from the penalty spot seven minutes later.
The victory saw Chelsea top their Conference League group with a perfect nine points from three matches.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca praised the team’s professionalism, saying they maintained focus despite the dominant scoreline.
The 8-0 win also equaled Chelsea’s second-biggest victory in club history, just behind their 13-0 triumph in 1971.
