Barcelona Ready to Move On from Lewandowski Next Season

Barcelona are preparing for life after Robert Lewandowski as contract talks stall and Ferran Torres emerges as the preferred striker

Robert Lewandowski may be playing his last season in Barcelona as the club shows no intention of extending his deal — www.isagoal.com reports.

Spanish outlet SPORT revealed that Barcelona have decided against offering the Polish forward a new contract, with his current deal running until June 2026.

The striker turned 37 in August, and concerns about his age have been quietly shaping conversations inside the club despite his consistent record of goals.

Barcelona’s coaching staff, led by Hansi Flick, now appear to be leaning towards Ferran Torres, whose sharp form has earned him back-to-back starts.

Lewandowski, who missed the first game of the season through injury, has found himself coming off the bench more than once this campaign.

“September is when the season really starts,” Lewandowski said recently, but his reduced role tells a different story on the pitch.

Club executives are believed to be searching for a new number nine, though their financial struggles make promoting Torres the most realistic plan.

Meanwhile, Lewandowski continues to attract interest from Saudi clubs, keeping speculation alive about his next move if Barcelona let him go.
