Barcelona has officially announced a landmark sponsorship deal with Nike, reported to be the highest-paying agreement in soccer history.
The new multi-year partnership, which begins this season, consolidates Nike as the club’s primary partner and official technical sponsor for all its professional and amateur teams.
In a statement, Barcelona emphasized the strategic nature of the deal, highlighting collaboration on product creation, supply chain, and global distribution with Nike and Barça Licensing & Merchandising.
The two brands have a long-standing relationship, having first partnered in 1998, and their new agreement builds on a history of shared innovation and success.
Barcelona pointed to their numerous achievements during this period, including four UEFA Champions League titles, 12 La Liga titles, and several other prestigious trophies.
While the club did not disclose financial details, reports from Mundo Deportivo and Culemania suggest the deal is worth €1.7 billion ($1.82 billion) over 14 years, averaging €121 million ($129.5 million) per year.
The deal includes significant increases in payments from 2024 to 2028, with an estimated €48 million ($51.4 million) more annually, and between €58 million and €60 million ($62–64 million) from 2028 onward.
Although the deal is set to provide Barcelona with significant financial backing, it is unlikely to fully resolve ongoing Financial Fair Play (FFP) challenges related to recent signings like Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.
The agreement was finalized unexpectedly in an emergency board meeting convened by President Joan Laporta.
