Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reportedly offered Jack Grealish to Barcelona for £34 million, as the winger’s future at the club remains uncertain. Grealish, who joined City from Aston Villa for £100 million in 2021, has struggled to make an impact this season.
According to Football365, Guardiola approached his former club with the proposal, but new Barcelona coach Hansi Flick immediately rejected the move. Flick does not consider Grealish suitable for his plans.
Grealish managed only 16 starts across all competitions this season. His exclusion from City’s Club World Cup squad further raised questions about his role in Guardiola’s setup. Everton have shown early interest, though financial constraints may force a loan arrangement, as Grealish’s £300,000 weekly wage remains a major hurdle.
Fabrizio Romano commented, “Grealish is likely to leave this summer, with Everton as a possible destination, though negotiations are not advanced.”
Other Premier League clubs like West Ham and Newcastle are also monitoring the situation. Former Everton chairman Keith Wyness believes a loan is the most realistic solution, suggesting, “City would carry on paying part of his wages and Everton contributing.”
