Barca Scramble to Register Rashford, Szczesny, Others

Marcus Rashford faces uncertainty at Barcelona as LaLiga rules stall registration, leaving six players stuck in limbo before the new season kicks off

Barcelona are racing against the clock to get Marcus Rashford and five other players officially registered before LaLiga restarts on August 15 — www.isagoal.com reports.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Rashford is on standby alongside Joan Garcia, Wojciech Szczesny, Gerard Martin, Marc Bernal, and Roony Bardghji, with the club still battling financial restrictions.

Rashford, who joined Barca on loan from Manchester United, has managed a goal and an assist during preseason but cannot feature in official matches until he’s cleared for league play.

“He’s here to prove a point,” said a source close to the club. “But that only matters if he’s on the pitch.”

The Blaugrana were forced to shift focus to Rashford after missing out on Nico Williams and Luis Diaz, and they hold an option to make the loan permanent for €30 million.

Garcia, signed from Espanyol, and Szczesny, recently re-signed, also wait on green lights.

Meanwhile, young talents Bardghji and Bernal are pushing for squad roles but risk being sidelined due to tight salary cap constraints.

As Flick weighs his options, names like Christensen and Ferran Torres could be sold to clear space.
