Fulham have rejected a £21.5 million bid from Atletico Madrid for Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi, IsaGoal can report.

According to AfricaFoot, Atletico made the offer after Iwobi’s strong performances caught the attention of Diego Simeone, who is reshaping his squad following a third-place finish in La Liga.

Fulham see Iwobi as central to Marco Silva’s plans and have no intention of selling the 29-year-old at this stage.

Iwobi, reportedly surprised by the offer, has been a consistent performer since joining from Everton in 2023.

He signed for Fulham in a £22 million deal and has since made 77 appearances, scoring 15 goals and assisting eight.

Sources say Atletico offered the Nigerian international a weekly wage of around £115,000, but Fulham remain firm on keeping him.

Fans at Craven Cottage have embraced Iwobi’s versatility and work rate, with the player adapting to multiple roles under Silva.

The midfielder still has three years left on his current contract, which gives Fulham little urgency to negotiate a sale.

On the international front, Iwobi has scored ten times in 80 appearances for Nigeria and played a major role in their run to the AFCON final earlier this year.

Whether Atletico return with an improved offer remains to be seen, but for now, Iwobi stays in London.
