Arsenal have confirmed plans to stage all 11 home fixtures of their Women’s Super League (WSL) campaign at the Emirates Stadium for the 2025/26 season.

According to The Independent, the Gunners, who were recently crowned Women’s Champions League winners, averaged over 34,000 fans at their nine WSL games at the Emirates last season. The club now plans to go further by hosting the entire league season at their main ground — a first in club history.

While fixture dates for the Premier League and WSL are yet to be released, Arsenal are optimistic about working with the relevant authorities to alternate men’s and women’s home games. This would allow both teams to fully utilize the Emirates Stadium without scheduling clashes.

Although league fixtures are set to move fully to the Emirates, Meadow Park will still host Arsenal Women’s domestic cup games and group-stage Champions League matches. However, the club hopes to bring high-stakes knockout fixtures, such as the quarter-finals and semi-finals, to the Emirates.

Last season, Arsenal hosted nine WSL matches at the Emirates, up from six in the previous year. The record crowd of 56,748 for the North London derby against Tottenham underlines the momentum the women’s game continues to gain.

Arsenal lifted their first Women’s Champions League trophy in 18 years last month by defeating Barcelona in Lisbon. The celebrations continued with a public trophy event held outside the Emirates, drawing a large local crowd.

“Today’s announcement is another bold step forward,” said Arsenal managing director Richard Garlick. “It’s an opportunity to create a special home for our team and allow more opportunities for our community, and a new generation of supporters to watch the European champions.”

Clare Wheatley, director of women’s football at Arsenal, added: “Our players and staff know what it means to walk out in front of a packed Emirates Stadium. It brings a sense of pride and belonging to all of us. It fuels a relentless drive to win and is a crucial part of how we create the best conditions for our women’s team to succeed.”

As the European champions prepare to defend their title and build on last season’s domestic success, the club’s commitment to hosting league matches at the Emirates marks a pivotal moment for women’s football in England.
