Arsenal have officially completed the signing of Brentford captain Christian Norgaard, bolstering their midfield ahead of the new season, IsaGoal can report,
The 31-year-old Danish international becomes Arsenal’s third signing this summer following the arrivals of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
Norgaard joins the Gunners after six impressive years at Brentford, where he made 196 appearances and played a vital role in their rise to Premier League status.
The former Fiorentina man was instrumental in Brentford’s 2021 promotion and their top-flight survival since.
Last season, he featured in 34 of 38 Premier League matches and contributed to their strong, albeit short-lived, push for European qualification.
“Christian brings leadership, experience, and versatility to our midfield,” said Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
Norgaard will wear the number 16 shirt for the upcoming campaign.
His arrival fills a critical gap in Arsenal’s engine room following the departures of Jorginho and Thomas Partey.
Known for his tactical intelligence and composure, Norgaard typically plays as a defensive midfielder but can also operate in a more box-to-box role.
His reunion with former manager Thomas Frank—who now leads Tottenham—adds intrigue to the upcoming North London Derby in November.
