Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has made it clear he wants Victor Osimhen to join Chelsea this summer, not Arsenal, urging the striker to choose a club that “wins trophies,” according to report.

Osimhen is being linked with a high-profile exit from Galatasaray, with Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, PSG, and Juventus all showing interest in the Nigerian forward.

Omeruo, who once played for Chelsea, believes his former club offers the best platform for Osimhen to reach new heights in Europe. He dismissed Arsenal as the wrong choice for a player of Osimhen’s ambition.

“Of course Chelsea. Arsenal needs him, but I want him to win trophies,” Omeruo said during an interview with SportyTV.

The 31-year-old, currently at Kasimpasa, called Osimhen the world’s top striker and reflected on a conversation they had before the forward joined Galatasaray. Omeruo said he had told Osimhen about the passion of Turkish fans and their unwavering support for footballers.

Osimhen, 26, recently capped a brilliant season with 25 goals and five assists in the league, playing a pivotal role in helping Galatasaray secure their 25th Turkish Super Lig title. He also netted twice in the Turkish Cup final, sealing a domestic double for the Istanbul club.

Meanwhile, Chelsea added another trophy to their collection, defeating Real Betis 4-1 in the UEFA Conference League final. The victory made them the first club to win all three major European competitions, reinforcing their winning pedigree.

Omeruo pointed to this recent success as proof that Chelsea remains a club built to compete and win at the highest level. He believes Osimhen’s next step should be a move to England—and specifically to Stamford Bridge.

“I want to see Victor in the Premier League, no doubt. I want to see him there. I want him to conquer the league,” Omeruo added.

While Arsenal have enjoyed progress under Mikel Arteta, finishing second in the Premier League for two consecutive seasons, their last major trophy came in 2020. That gap, for Omeruo, is enough reason for Osimhen to avoid the north London side.
