Arsenal have reportedly made surprise contact with Manchester United regarding the potential transfer of Antony. The Brazilian winger, currently on loan at Real Betis, has been enjoying a productive spell in La Liga after struggling at Old Trafford.
According to UOL, Arsenal’s interest comes as Manchester United faces a challenging summer. With the need to offload high-earners, Antony could be one of the players sold, despite his rocky Premier League career.
Antony’s loan spell at Betis has been much more successful than his time at United, where he managed just one goal in 29 appearances last season. In Spain, he has scored four goals and provided two assists in 13 La Liga matches, adding to his five goal contributions in seven Conference League games.
“Antony has been on fire,” the report notes, referencing his decisive goal against Fiorentina and a dramatic late winner against Espanyol. His recent performances in Spain have caught the eye of Premier League clubs, making his future uncertain.
