Arsenal are preparing for a seventh major signing this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to fix the gaps that saw his side fall just short in the Premier League again, IsaGoal can report.

The Gunners have already landed Christian Norgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Martin Zubimendi, with deals for Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, and Viktor Gyokeres either completed or in the final stages.

Now, they’re reportedly eyeing up Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace.

Reports suggests that Arsenal are seriously considering triggering Eze’s £68m release clause, viewing him as a creative option to unlock deep defences and add spark to the final third.

Spurs were also linked, but Arsenal seem to be pushing harder.

The 27-year-old was pivotal in Palace’s FA Cup win last season, registering eight goals and eight assists in the league.

His ability to glide through tight spaces and operate centrally makes him an ideal fit for Arteta’s tactical plans.

“Eze would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal,” wrote former Gunner Paul Merson in his Sky Sports column. “He’s perfect. Arsenal struggle when teams sit back, and Eze is the kind of player who can break those lines.”

The window closes September 1, but Arsenal hope to complete their business well before their season opener against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
