Napoli’s search for a striker has brought Tolu Arokodare into the spotlight, and former Super Eagles forward Dominic Iorfa believes the Genk man could thrive in Italy – www.isagoal.com reports.
In a chat with Footy-Africa, Iorfa described Napoli as the perfect fit for the 24-year-old, stressing that the Nigerian’s physical style mirrors what the club needs.
“Tolu [Arokodare] has been linked with many clubs this summer, but this Napoli one looks more serious,” Iorfa explained.
He pointed to Romelu Lukaku’s injury as the trigger for Napoli’s intensified push, adding: “They are both big, strong, and powerful strikers. Tolu fits the profile.”
Reports suggest Genk value Arokodare at around €20–25 million, with talks already held between both parties.
While Manchester United’s Rasmus Højlund is Napoli’s top target, Arokodare is viewed as a strong backup option by Italian and Nigerian outlets.
Iorfa also drew parallels with Victor Osimhen, who became a cult hero in Naples after firing them to their first Scudetto in 33 years.
“If this deal goes through, Tolu could be the next Nigerian to lead Napoli’s attack. I’ll be delighted if it happens,” Iorfa said.
