Allegri Rejects Boniface Deal After Milan Medical Issues

Victor Boniface’s highly anticipated AC Milan move has collapsed after medical tests raised alarms and Allegri’s stance sealed uncertainty around the deal

Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface’s much-anticipated transfer to AC Milan has collapsed after a storm of medical concerns and managerial disapproval – www.isagoal.com reports.

The Nigerian striker had already agreed personal terms and was set for a €5m loan switch from Bayer Leverkusen, including a €30m purchase clause.

Milan even prepared the famous No.22 shirt, previously worn by club legend Kaka, signaling how close the announcement was.

But during routine medical checks in Milan, doctors flagged issues in Boniface’s right knee, forcing a second evaluation at the Galeazzi Orthopaedic Institute.

According to Soccernet.ng, specialists confirmed the knee was “not 100% fit,” leading to hesitation from Milan’s board.

Italian journalist Marco Guidi stated, “The problems in the medical exams are confirmed,” while suggesting the loan fee could be renegotiated.

Adding to the doubts, AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri expressed reluctance about the deal due to Boniface’s injury history and fitness reliability.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Boniface has returned to Germany after two days in Milan, awaiting the club’s final stance.

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri later revealed that Milan decided against signing him after reviewing the scans.

Boniface’s past injury record, including two ACL ruptures and groin setbacks, weighed heavily in the club’s decision-making process.

Back at Bayer Leverkusen, Boniface faces an uncertain future, as new manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly not planning to use him regularly.

Unless Leverkusen lowers their demands, a return to Milan seems unlikely, leaving the forward in limbo ahead of the new season.
