AC Milan have started drawing up plans in case Samuel Chukwueze leaves the club this summer – www.isagoal.com reports.
According to reports, the Serie A giants are monitoring Vasco da Gama’s highly rated 19-year-old winger Rayan as a possible replacement.
Chukwueze has been the subject of exit rumors following a frustrating first year in Italy, where he scored five times and added two assists in 29 appearances.
Despite that, he featured strongly in preseason under Massimiliano Allegri and even found the net against Perth Glory.
Speculation grew that Milan were open to selling him, with Fulham among the clubs linked, but no formal offer has arrived.
Football Italia reports that Milan want to be proactive and have already identified Rayan as a player with the qualities to fit into their system.
Rayan, valued around €14 million, is regarded as one of Brazil’s most promising young forwards.
“He has the potential to become a top winger,” reports in Italy suggest, with Milan convinced he could adapt quickly to European football.
For now, Chukwueze remains a Rossoneri player, but Milan’s scouting move for Rayan shows they are bracing for any late-window developments.
