Getafe are growing uneasy over the way Crystal Palace have treated Nigerian forward Christantus Uche since his deadline-day switch to Selhurst Park – www.isagoal.com reports.
The Spanish club reluctantly approved the loan, but included a clause forcing Palace to buy him permanently for €21m if he starts ten matches this season.
So far, the striker has only logged 51 minutes across four appearances and has yet to make Oliver Glasner’s starting lineup.
That has fueled speculation in Madrid that Palace are intentionally limiting his playing time to avoid the mandatory purchase.
“Palace look like they just want him as a short-term squad filler,” one Spanish outlet suggested.
The 22-year-old had no intention of leaving Getafe after just one year in La Liga, where he featured in 33 games with four goals and six assists.
He also began the current campaign strongly, scoring once and assisting in the opening three league matches before being pushed out.
Earlier, Uche even rejected a summer offer from Wolves, but Getafe pressed ahead with the Palace move.
His minutes in England have been limited to cameos against Sunderland, West Ham, and Liverpool, plus 45 minutes in the EFL Cup versus Millwall.
Officials at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez are now debating whether to formally confront Palace in January if the lack of involvement continues.
Despite the situation, Uche has remained professional and focused on adapting to life in London.
From a trusted La Liga starter to a bench option in the Premier League, his career trajectory faces a worrying stall unless Glasner changes course.
