Victor Osimhen has been missing from action for Galatasaray after picking up an ankle injury while on duty with Nigeria in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers – www.isagoal.com reports.
The striker suffered the setback against Rwanda, an incident that initially looked minor as he walked off on his own.
Soccernet.ng revealed that Osimhen was forced to leave Nigeria’s camp early to begin treatment with Galatasaray’s medical team.
Since then, the 26-year-old has been ruled out of league action, including the tie against Eyupspor in Istanbul.
He also played no part in the Champions League fixture where Galatasaray endured a heavy 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Turkish outlet Fanatik, via Hurriyet, confirmed that Osimhen will sit out two more games, against Konyaspor and Alanyaspor.
Galatasaray will need to find solutions up front without him, but the big news for fans is his expected comeback date.
Reports say Osimhen should return on September 30, when the Cimbom face Liverpool at Rams Park in a Champions League showdown.
“His presence against Liverpool will be crucial,” one Turkish source said, underlining how much the team values his attacking power.
The Super Eagles forward remains one of the most influential figures for Galatasaray, and his fitness could decide their European campaign.
