Awoniyi, Aina Set to Work Under New Coach Postecoglou at Forest

Ex-Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou is tipped to replace Nuno Espirito Santo at Nottingham Forest, raising big questions for Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi

Nottingham Forest have sacked Nuno Espirito Santo after weeks of tension behind the scenes, and a replacement is already lined up – www.isagoal.com reports.

Australian coach Ange Postecoglou, who most recently managed Tottenham Hotspur, is expected to be unveiled as the new boss.

Club owner Evangelos Marinakis and Nuno clashed openly, with the Portuguese coach admitting his relationship with the hierarchy had collapsed.

The friction deepened when it emerged that Nuno also struggled with Edu Gaspar, the club’s global head of football, appointed just two months ago.

Those issues triggered urgent meetings at the City Ground, leading to Nuno’s dismissal earlier this week.

Forest quickly reached an agreement with Postecoglou, who has built a reputation across Australia, Scotland, and England for bold, attacking football.

The 60-year-old guided Celtic to silverware and is widely regarded for his high-press style, though his Spurs side conceded 126 goals in 76 league matches.

For Ola Aina, this could mean more responsibility going forward, with the full-back expected to contribute heavily in attack under the new system.

Taiwo Awoniyi, however, may face the same selection struggles, as recent signings have already limited his minutes in the starting eleven.

Postecoglou is also known for lifting trophies in his second season, making his long-term impact a major storyline to follow at Forest.
