Abia Warriors manager Imama Amapakabo says his side is fully prepared for the start of the Nigeria Premier Football League season – www.isagoal.com reports.
Speaking in an interview covered by Leadership, the tactician explained that the club had worked hard to ensure they begin the campaign on solid ground.
The Umu Chineke outfit open their 2025/26 season against former league champions Kano Pillars on Sunday.
Amapakabo stressed the importance of making a statement in their first game, calling it a chance to set the tone for the long season ahead.
“It will be funny if at this time, a few days to the commencement of the league, we say we’re not prepared,” he told the club’s media team.
He noted that every fixture presents a unique challenge but believes Abia Warriors must aim for victory regardless of the opponent.
The coach also pointed out that after the opener, the club faces two consecutive away fixtures, making a strong start even more crucial.
According to him, a positive result on Sunday would serve as a psychological boost for the team.
Amapakabo praised the club’s new signings, explaining they were brought in to strengthen the squad after the departure of key players from last season.
“The reason why we brought them, we believe that they will be quality additions to the team,” he said confidently.
He also urged the supporters to remain patient and continue backing the Warriors as they push for success this campaign.
