Arsenal Seal Record Move for Irish-Nigerian Talent Victor Ozhianvuna

Arsenal have agreed a record transfer for Shamrock Rovers teenage midfielder Victor Ozhianvuna, marking a landmark deal in Irish football history

Arsenal have reached a record agreement to sign Shamrock Rovers’ 16-year-old midfielder Victor Ozhianvuna, making him one of the most talked-about young players in Ireland – www.isagoal.com reports.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the deal will set a new benchmark for transfers involving Irish clubs.

Ozhianvuna has already broken into Shamrock Rovers’ senior squad under Stephen Bradley, featuring in 15 games this season and finding the net once.

The Irish-Nigerian teenager has been praised for his blend of strength, vision, and technical ability, qualities that quickly drew Arsenal’s scouts to him.

“The move to Arsenal is a dream for any young footballer,” a source close to the player revealed.

The deal will surpass Tottenham’s £1.6 million signing of Mason Melia from St Patrick’s Athletic earlier this year.

Because FIFA rules prevent international transfers of minors, Ozhianvuna will remain with Shamrock Rovers until he turns 18 in January 2027.

During that period, he will continue his development in the League of Ireland while Arsenal monitor his progress closely.

The youngster has already undergone a medical, and paperwork for the transfer could be finalized this week.

For Arsenal, the capture of Ozhianvuna reflects their long-term commitment to building connections with Irish football.
