Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo is walking a tightrope at the City Ground despite signing a contract extension just two months ago – www.isagoal.com reports.
According to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, the strained relationship between Nuno and club owner Evangelos Marinakis has reached a breaking point.
If Nuno exits, it would throw Nottingham Forest into another period of instability, leaving Nigeria stars Ola Aina, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Emmanuel Dennis waiting for direction.
Aina started and completed the club’s opening Premier League win over Brentford, while Awoniyi stayed on the bench and Dennis missed the squad entirely.
Nuno poured fuel on the fire in his Sky Sports interview last week, where he blasted the club’s transfer strategy ahead of the Brentford match.
“I am not satisfied with the way the transfer window has gone,” Nuno said, pointing directly at recruitment failures.
Those remarks reportedly worsened his fallout with Marinakis, bringing his job security into sharper focus just weeks into the new campaign.
Since taking charge, Nuno has relied heavily on Ola Aina, who has made 47 appearances, while Awoniyi has played 42 games and scored four goals under him.
Dennis, however, has remained sidelined and has not featured in a competitive match since the dismissal of Steve Cooper.
The club confirmed this morning that Nuno will speak at Friday’s pre-match press conference before Sunday’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.
