NPFL: Kwara United Boss Speaks on Readiness as CAF Test Looms

Coach Tunde Sanni admits Kwara United are still behind in preparation but insists his side will fight across NPFL, CAF Confederation Cup, and domestic fronts

Kwara United head coach Tunde Sanni has admitted his squad is not yet where he wants them to be as the new NPFL season kicks off – www.isagoal.com reports.

Speaking to Premium Times after their pre-season outing in Ogun State, Sanni stressed that his players are still adjusting, especially the new recruits brought in this summer.

“Integration is the problem,” he said. “Some are playing at this tempo for the first time, but they will adapt with time.”

The Harmony Boys ended last season on a high, lifting the President Federation Cup, their first major trophy.

Despite that success, their preseason has been inconsistent, with the coach more focused on identifying weaknesses than collecting wins.

Sanni confessed, “Yes, we are preparing, but we are still behind. Before our first match, we’ll do something great about it.”

The Ilorin club begins their NPFL campaign on 22 August and will also face Ghana’s Asante Kotoko in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminaries.

With three competitions on the horizon, Sanni is determined to build a balanced squad capable of competing strongly at home and abroad.
