Philip Otele Emerges as Fulham’s Backup Transfer Option

Fulham have lined up Nigerian winger Philip Otele as an option with Kevin’s deal dragging and Samuel Chukwueze’s AC Milan future still uncertain

Fulham are weighing up a move for Basel winger Philip Otele as they seek attacking cover before the summer transfer window closes – www.isagoal.com reports.

Allnigeriasoccer.com reveals that the Premier League side continue talks with Shakhtar Donetsk for Brazilian forward Kevin, but progress has slowed over fee disagreements.

Club scouts have been monitoring Otele, who joined Basel in June after a record-breaking season in Romania where he finished as the league’s top scorer.

The 26-year-old winger has started strongly in Switzerland, scoring three times and delivering two assists across six matches for the champions.

Otele also featured in Basel’s 1-1 Champions League play-off draw against FC Copenhagen, completing the full 90 minutes.

Fulham are also assessing Samuel Chukwueze, who has found minutes hard to come by at AC Milan under Massimiliano Allegri.

Chukwueze, once linked with Fulham during the last winter transfer deadline, was left unused in Milan’s Serie A opener this season.

The Cottagers remain open to pursuing either player as uncertainty lingers around Kevin’s deal with Shakhtar.

Fulham’s recruitment team hopes to finalize a winger signing soon as Marco Silva pushes for reinforcements out wide.
