Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface is closing in on a move to AC Milan after Bayer Leverkusen and the Italian giants struck an agreement for a season-long loan with a €30 million buy option – www.isagoal.com reports.
Norwegian-Nigerian agent Atta Aneke has boarded a flight to Italy to finalize negotiations on behalf of the striker.
Milan accelerated their pursuit after sanctioning Noah Okafor’s move to Leeds United, leaving them short in attack.
Talks between both clubs have already been settled, but the finer details of personal terms are expected to be ironed out in meetings this week.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Boniface has already given the green light to Milan’s proposal.
German outlet Sky Sport, through Florian Plettenberg, added that sporting director Igli Tare submitted the final offer in the last 48 hours.
The proposed package covers a one-season loan, with Milan granted the option to make the move permanent for €30 million next summer.
Boniface, 24, still has a contract at Leverkusen until 2028 but has slipped down Erik ten Hag’s pecking order behind Patrick Schick.
The striker has endured reduced minutes since January, fueling his eagerness to secure regular action elsewhere.
“Boniface is keen on San Siro and sees it as the next step in his career,” Romano confirmed.
He was a breakout star in Germany, winning the Bundesliga Rookie of the Year award and helping Leverkusen clinch their first-ever league title.
Milan view him as the ideal fit to strengthen their frontline and partner Santiago Giménez in Stefano Pioli’s attack.
All parties are optimistic of wrapping up the transfer in the coming days to allow Boniface to settle ahead of the Serie A season.
