Ademola Lookman is back in Bergamo with Atalanta after Inter Milan withdrew from talks over his summer transfer — www.isagoal.com reports.
Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews confirmed that the Nigerian international has linked up with La Dea’s pre-season camp after weeks of uncertainty.
Inter had placed the 27-year-old high on their priority list, but Atalanta refused to accept either of the two formal offers.
The failed negotiations forced the Milan club to abandon the chase, leaving Lookman to continue under Ivan Juric this season.
“Lookman had his heart set on the move, but the clubs could not find common ground,” reports from Italy revealed.
The winger even attempted to push through the transfer himself, though Atalanta stood firm on their valuation.
For much of August, Lookman remained in London waiting for a breakthrough between both clubs.
With no deal reached, he has now returned to training at the Gewiss Stadium ahead of the new Serie A campaign.
The forward’s future remains a topic of discussion, but for now he will focus on another season in Atalanta colors.
