Ethan Nwaneri will no longer be a regular on Arsenal’s right flank after Mikel Arteta decided to use him in midfield this season — www.isagoal.com reports.
Transfer expert David Ornstein told The Sports Agents that Arsenal convinced the 18-year-old to sign a new deal by promising more game time in his best position.
According to reports, Arteta plans to deploy Nwaneri as an attacking or central midfielder to help dictate matches.
Last season, Nwaneri often covered the right wing, stepping in when Bukola Saraki was sidelined through injury.
He also featured in various roles, including false nine, but midfield has always been his preferred spot.
Ornstein revealed the club had considered Eberechi Eze as an option if Nwaneri had left.
With his future secured and his favoured role assured, Nwaneri will be eager to justify the trust placed in him.
