Zaidu Sanusi might be on the verge of leaving FC Porto, and former Super Eagles midfielder Garba Lawal says the time feels right – www.isagoal.com reports.
Lawal told Footy-Africa he believes a move could reignite Sanusi’s form, especially after an injury-hit year that’s seen his role at Porto reduced.
“I heard Porto want to sell him,” Lawal said. “If that’s true, then he should go. He’s versatile and shouldn’t struggle to find a new team.”
Sanusi has attracted interest from Real Oviedo, while talks of Leeds United have cooled down.
Lawal admitted staying in Portugal might be easier for Sanusi given his experience there but didn’t rule out Spain either.
“La Liga is a fantastic option for him,” Lawal added. “Spain is close to Portugal in style, and he already knows how to adapt.”
Since arriving from Santa Clara in 2020, Sanusi has collected over 100 appearances and a handful of domestic trophies with Porto.
Now, with Porto reportedly open to selling, the 26-year-old could soon begin the next phase of his career elsewhere.
