RB Leipzig are making moves to sign more young players from Chelsea, setting their sights on academy graduate Tyrique George alongside ongoing talks for Carney Chukwuemeka — www.isagoal.com reports.
The Telegraph revealed that Leipzig’s interest in George comes as part of their efforts to rebuild after a rough season that left them without European football.
Talks over a full transfer for Chukwuemeka are already in advanced stages, with the midfielder hoping for a fresh start after an underwhelming loan at Borussia Dortmund.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old George is being lined up for a loan deal, as Chelsea evaluates his development path amid rising competition for places in the squad.
Sources say the club is willing to let George leave temporarily, as minutes may be hard to come by following the arrivals of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Estêvão Willian.
Chelsea are also tracking Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons, which could further limit opportunities for George in wide attacking roles.
“Tyrique is one of the most talented players to come through the academy in recent years,” a club insider shared.
Though George played for England at youth level, he remains eligible for Nigeria and may now consider a move that guarantees more regular football.
