Ademola Lookman is ready to reduce his salary expectations to join Inter Milan, a move that could speed up negotiations between the clubs, www.isagoal.com reports.
According to Corriere della Sera, Inter Milan have named the Atalanta winger as their top target for this transfer window.
Despite Atalanta demanding €50 million for the Nigerian forward, Inter’s first offer of €40 million was immediately turned down by the Bergamo-based club.
Inter plan to return with a stronger proposal as they remain determined to bring Lookman to San Siro this summer.
The forward’s willingness to adjust his salary could help bridge the financial gap between the two sides.
Lookman has already agreed personal terms with Inter, including a proposed five-year deal valued around €4.5 million per season.
“Ademola is open to lowering his wage if that’s what it takes to make this move happen,” a source close to the deal said.
This potential salary compromise gives Inter added flexibility in their next offer.
Meanwhile, Atalanta have identified a replacement if Lookman departs.
Reports claim they are lining up a move for Federico Chiesa, who is currently out of favor at Liverpool.
