Isak’s Agent Fuels Liverpool, Newcastle Transfer Drama

Alexander Isak's future takes another sharp turn as his agent drops a cryptic update while Newcastle remain firm on keeping the striker

Newcastle striker Alexander Isak is once again at the center of intense transfer buzz, as speculation grows over Liverpool’s pursuit and a Saudi club’s interest, Isagoal can report.

According to The Telegraph, the club has made it clear they won’t entertain any bids, regardless of mounting pressure or interest from Liverpool and Al-Hilal.

Liverpool, despite agreeing terms with Eintracht Frankfurt for Hugo Ekitike, reportedly still view Isak as a top-tier target and may ignore Newcastle’s £150m valuation.

Over the weekend, Isak was notably absent from the squad in their 4-0 pre-season loss to Celtic, sparking rumors that talks with Saudi giants are gaining traction.

Speaking to Arriyadiyah, Gonzalo Gaitan, a representative of Isak, stated: “We are indeed studying and analysing all options, and we may be close to finalising the next step for the player.”

Journalist Luke Edwards responded firmly on X, saying: “Alexander Isak is not for sale this summer. Not to Liverpool. Not to Saudi Arabia. Not to anyone.”

Despite this, reports suggest former co-owner Amanda Staveley had promised Isak a new deal, which never materialized, causing friction after Paul Mitchell chose not to act.

Newcastle’s board, including chairman Yasir Al-Rumayaan, is now expected to offer Isak the biggest contract in the club’s history to keep him at St James’ Park.

Eddie Howe, addressing the striker’s absence, explained: “I decided to send him home due to the speculation… I’m confident he will be a Newcastle player.”

Still, Howe offered no full guarantees, saying: “It’s difficult for me to ever give 100 per cent clarity on any player… but I’m confident he’s going to be here.”

The manager added a pointed message: “Your top players are so hard to find, so hard to recruit… you need to treasure them. We’re desperate to keep him.”

With Manchester City circling Burnley’s James Trafford and Liverpool’s approach for Isak raising eyebrows, the saga continues as clubs make their final summer moves.
