Bournemouth have officially signed Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic in a £25 million deal, with the Serbia international penning a five-year contract, IsaGoal can report.
The 25-year-old made 23 Premier League appearances for Chelsea after arriving from New England Revolution in 2023.
But with new boss Enzo Maresca favouring keepers strong with their feet, Petrovic was shipped on loan to Strasbourg, another club under Todd Boehly’s ownership.
That loan move proved a turning point, as Petrovic delivered standout performances in Ligue 1, guiding Strasbourg to a seventh-place finish and European qualification.
He was named Strasbourg’s Player of the Season, attracting interest from Monaco, Sunderland, and Strasbourg themselves.
But it’s Bournemouth who secured his signature after Petrovic requested to skip the Club World Cup to finalize his move. “I came to Bournemouth because I want to grow and play at the best level,” he said. “With these facilities and the team’s ambition, we can achieve big things.”
Tiago Pinto, Bournemouth’s president of football operations, called Petrovic a crucial investment. “Goalkeeper is a vital position, and Djordje brings quality and experience despite his age.”
Petrovic becomes the second Chelsea goalkeeper to land at Bournemouth, following Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was on loan last season before his £5m switch to Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Mark Travers has completed a move to Everton, signing a four-year deal.
The Irishman is expected to serve as backup to Jordan Pickford after making 82 appearances for Bournemouth since 2018.
