Manuel Neuer has criticized PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma following the horrific injury suffered by Jamal Musiala in Bayern Munich’s Club World Cup quarter-final defeat, IsaGoal can report.

Musiala was stretchered off before halftime in Bayern’s 2-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in Atlanta after a collision with Donnarumma left him with a suspected fractured tibia and fibula.

The German international collapsed in agony after the goalkeeper dove for the ball and pinned his leg awkwardly to the turf.

Speaking to Sky Sports Germany, Neuer didn’t hold back. “It was a situation where you don’t have to go in like that. That’s risk-taking. He was prepared to accept the risk of injuring his opponent,” he said.

Neuer also questioned Donnarumma’s sportsmanship. “I went to him and said, ‘Don’t you want to go and see our player?’ It’s a matter of respect,” he added.

Donnarumma later posted on Instagram: “All my prayers and well wishes are with you @jamalmusiala10.”

Musiala was taken to the hospital, and Bayern manager Vincent Kompany admitted the situation left him furious. “I’ve rarely been so angry at halftime… This is football, but this was painful to watch,” Kompany told DAZN.

Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué scored to send PSG to the semi-finals, but their celebrations were muted. “We hope to see him back soon,” said PSG’s Achraf Hakimi. Dembélé added: “Shout out to Jamal Musiala. That’s something you don’t want to see.”
