Rodrygo’s future at Real Madrid looks increasingly uncertain, with new manager Xabi Alonso reportedly open to letting the Brazilian leave this summer if a suitable offer arrives, IsaGoal can report.
According to The Athletic, senior Madrid officials have grown concerned over Rodrygo’s motivation and performances, especially after his diminished role under Carlo Ancelotti last season.
The 24-year-old netted just six La Liga goals in a disappointing campaign that saw Los Blancos finish without silverware — the first time in four seasons.
Sources close to the player, including his father and agent Eric Goes, have reportedly voiced discontent behind closed doors.
They believe Rodrygo is being overshadowed by the club’s attacking trio of Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, and Vinicius Junior, further straining the relationship with the Madrid hierarchy.
Despite public praise, Alonso appears to be planning for life without Rodrygo.
“Rodrygo is a spectacular player and we will need him,” Alonso said. “He deserves it and so do we.”
However, Alonso also hinted at internal struggles.
“He took some time to reset his head. I see him wanting to enjoy and contribute,” he added.
Yet Rodrygo has been limited to just 23 minutes of action since Madrid’s Club World Cup opener and was left on the bench during the quarter-final win over Juventus.
Madrid value the winger at £85 million, and Arsenal are reportedly keen to bring him in as their top target for the left wing.
Rodrygo’s contract runs until 2028, but Madrid may consider selling now to reshape their attack.
