Manchester United have restarted discussions to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, with Viktor Gyokeres remaining on their radar. The club is keen to strengthen its attacking options after a difficult season that saw them finish 15th in the Premier League.
According to Foot Mercato, Osimhen is open to leaving Napoli after talks with Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal collapsed despite a substantial offer. Galatasaray, where he played last season on loan, still hopes to retain him, but Manchester United have returned to the negotiation table.
Reports suggest that Osimhen and the Red Devils initially held talks in early May, discussing a potential move to Old Trafford. Talks have recently resumed under similar terms, with Osimhen’s proposed salary at €12 million and Napoli seeking a total package of €75 million including bonuses.
Manchester United have been focused on improving their goal-scoring options after last season’s disappointing tally. Strikers Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund struggled, managing just seven Premier League goals between them. With Matheus Cunha already signed from Wolves for £62.5 million, United continue their search for another reliable forward.
Gyokeres remains an alternative target. The club has reportedly contacted Sporting CP over a possible transfer, although Arsenal are also interested in the Swedish striker.
As the summer transfer window progresses, Manchester United are determined to address their attacking problems with serious moves for Osimhen and Gyokeres.
