Ansu Fati is edging closer to a summer move from Barcelona to Ligue 1 club Monaco, as both teams continue discussions to finalize the transfer. The proposed deal remains incomplete, with key aspects still under negotiation.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona insists on a mandatory purchase option, while Fati prefers a more flexible arrangement. Monaco also leans towards making the clause optional, creating a gap that still needs to be bridged. Discussions around the transfer fee, reportedly around €15 million, have yet to reach a final agreement.
Barcelona and Monaco are also negotiating Fati’s salary terms. Reports suggest Monaco is unwilling to cover more than 40% of his current wages. “There are still important details to be finalised,” a source close to the negotiations explained.
Diario Sport reports that both clubs are working against time. If the deal is completed before the end of June, Fati could benefit from tax advantages that might ease the process. Barcelona, on the other hand, hopes to finalize the transfer swiftly so new manager Hansi Flick can start shaping his squad ahead of the pre-season.
