Victor Osimhen is reportedly keen on a Premier League switch this summer, with Manchester United stepping up their interest in the Nigerian forward. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Osimhen rejected an offer from Saudi club Al-Hilal, focusing instead on his ambition to play in England’s top flight.

Osimhen recently helped Galatasaray clinch the Turkish Super Lig title during his loan spell, outpacing Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce side. His return to Napoli comes amid fresh links to Manchester United, who finished 15th in the Premier League last season and are working to rebuild their squad.

The main challenge for United remains Napoli’s valuation. The Serie A club is standing firm on Osimhen’s £63.4 million (€75 million) release clause. However, Manchester United are reportedly exploring a player-plus-cash deal, with forward Joshua Zirkzee seen as a potential part of the offer.

Despite his limited impact in the Premier League, Zirkzee holds a strong reputation in Italy from his previous stint at Bologna. Manchester United’s potential transfer activity could also include Matheus Cunha and the expected arrival of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

The clubs had also discussed a possible move involving Alejandro Garnacho last summer, indicating a long-standing negotiation channel between the two sides.

Eric Chelle, Osimhen’s international manager, spoke about the striker’s current mindset during this transfer period. He told BBC: “Victor is, for me, the best striker in the world. Maybe a club like Manchester United. Or maybe Chelsea, Barcelona or Real Madrid. So he needs to be focused on that.”

Osimhen’s preference for a Premier League move aligns with Manchester United’s urgent need to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
