Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal is now considering two English Premier League forwards after their bid for Victor Osimhen was turned down, according to Soccernet.ng. The club aims to make a strong signing ahead of the upcoming Club World Cup.
Osimhen, fresh from a successful season with Galatasaray where he scored 37 goals and contributed eight assists, declined a lucrative offer from Al-Hilal. The Saudi club matched his €75 million release clause and proposed a £34 million annual salary, equivalent to £650,000 per week including bonuses.
With the 26-year-old Nigerian striker favoring a move to the Premier League, Al-Hilal has shifted focus to Tottenham’s Richarlison and Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez, as reported by TalkSPORT. These targets come with limited time as the Club World Cup begins on June 15.
Meanwhile, interest in Osimhen remains high from clubs such as Galatasaray, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain, who reportedly have agreed personal terms with him. Premier League teams including Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Manchester United are also potential destinations, though wage structures and Champions League qualification might affect their chances.
Al-Hilal is also in negotiations for midfield reinforcements, reportedly discussing moves for Bernardo Silva from Manchester City and Youri Tielemans of Aston Villa. Silva has one year left on his contract, making a sale likely, while Tielemans impressed with five goals and ten assists last season.
A club representative said, “We are ready to make a marquee signing before the Club World Cup, but we must act quickly.”
Al-Hilal’s lineup will be closely watched when they face Real Madrid in the tournament kickoff.
