Manchester United confirmed the release of long-serving players Victor Lindelöf, Christian Eriksen, and Jonny Evans, according to the club’s official statement on Monday. The trio is part of nine players whose contracts have not been renewed as the club plans significant squad changes ahead of the new season.
Victor Lindelöf joined Manchester United in 2017 from Benfica, making 284 appearances during his eight years at Old Trafford.
Jonny Evans, aged 37, had two spells with the club, debuting in 2007 and returning in 2023 after signing from Leicester City. He featured 43 times in his second stint.
Christian Eriksen, who joined the club on a free transfer in 2021 from Tottenham Hotspur, scored eight goals in 107 appearances, including a penalty in his last match against Aston Villa.
Goalkeeper Tom Heaton remains in discussions about a contract extension despite only three appearances over four years.
Other players released include Hubert Graczyk, Jack Kingdon, Sam Murray, Tom Myles, James Nolan, and Tom Wooster.
