AC Milan are reportedly making a move to bring Federico Chiesa back to Serie A following a challenging season with Liverpool, where injuries and limited playing time curtailed his impact.
According to DAZN, Milan are expected to propose a loan deal with an option to buy for the 27-year-old winger during the upcoming transfer window. Chiesa made just 14 appearances across all competitions in his debut Premier League season, contributing two goals but struggling with fitness.
The former Juventus forward joined Liverpool last summer in a €12 million deal after his contract in Turin ended without renewal. Despite winning the Premier League title, Chiesa is now seeking more consistent game time to return to peak condition ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
“Milan are ready to offer Chiesa a way back to Italy, providing more playing time and a key role,” said Orazio Accomando.
Milan failed to qualify for European competition, which has reduced their spending power, but they are confident they can offer Chiesa a platform to rebuild. The club’s current proposal would likely involve Liverpool subsidizing a portion of Chiesa’s reported €7.5 million annual salary.
Chiesa’s time in England began with promise, including a goal in the FA Cup against Accrington Stanley, but consistency proved elusive. He was also seen watching Liverpool’s 3–0 win over Manchester United from the stands earlier in the season.
In addition to Milan, Roma and Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are reportedly monitoring the situation. However, Milan’s ability to offer a more central role in their squad could be a decisive factor.
