Manchester City secured a 2-1 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, with John Stones scoring a last-minute header to extend their unbeaten league streak to a record 31 games.

Despite City’s dominance in possession, Wolves drew first blood as in the seventh minute.

A pinpoint cross from Nelson Semedo was met by Jorgen Strand Larsen, who finished calmly from close range.

Wolves nearly doubled their lead when Semedo squandered a one-on-one chance, which was saved by Ederson.

City equalized in the 33rd minute when Josko Gvardiol found space and curled a stunning shot past Wolves’ goalkeeper José Sá.

The match seemed destined for a draw until the dying moments when City earned a corner.

Stones rose highest to meet Phil Foden’s corner and head the ball into the net.

Initially, the goal was subject to a VAR review due to an offside concern, but the goal was ultimately confirmed, much to the delight of manager Pep Guardiola and the traveling supporters.

This victory moved Manchester City to second in the Premier League standings, trailing Liverpool by one point.

Meanwhile, Wolves remains at the bottom of the table with just one point from eight games.
