Chelsea’s winless run has finally come to an end with a game-winning goal from Wesley Fofana against Leeds.
The goal was timely, bringing some relief and a reason to celebrate for both Chelsea and their coach, Graham Potter.
It ended a three-game losing streak that had put Potter’s job on the line and marked over 400 minutes without a goal for the team.
With this first win in six games, Chelsea’s hopes are slightly lifted as they prepare for their upcoming Champions League last-16 second leg match on Tuesday.
Although it wasn’t a pretty win, Fofana’s header from Ben Chilwell’s corner kick helped alleviate the tension around Stamford Bridge, especially after Kai Havertz failed to capitalize on his chance earlier in the game.
Throughout the match, Potter’s side showed promise but struggled until Fofana scored his crucial goal.
