Why Mason Greenwood is named on Man Utd squad while under police investigation

Here Is The Easy Money-Making Trick Everyone Is Talking About! Learn More Here!

Manchester United have included Mason Greenwood in their official Premier League squad list despite remaining suspended by the club amid his ongoing police investigation.

Greenwood, who was arrested in late January for alleged rape, assault and a threat to kill, has been named on United’s list of Under-21 players eligible to play for them in the league this season.

As a result of the 20-year-old’s age, he doesn’t need to be registered in Erik ten Hag’s 25-man squad. And because the suspended forward remains an employee of the club, he is automatically an included option.

Greenwood has been left out of the 25-man squad for the Europa League group stage by United. He is currently on bail as Greater Manchester Police continue to investigate him.

His player profile has remained on the club’s official website but fans are unable to purchase shirts with his name and No11 on.

The situation surrounding Greenwood has not changed despite the squad list inclusion.

United have previously had to deny rumours that he was set to return to first-team training.

In April, a club spokesperson said: “There has been no change whatsoever in Mason’s status. We removed his profile from the club app soon after he was removed from the squad in January.”
