Recent reports indicate that Liverpool has struck an agreement with Valencia for the transfer of their goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

The 23-year-old Georgian goalkeeper is set to undergo medical tests soon, with all necessary documents for the transfer expected to be signed shortly.

The financial details of the transfer reveal a substantial £29.6 million package, including a sell-on clause.

Despite the agreement, Mamardashvili will remain with Valencia for the entirety of the 2024/25 season.

He is primed to join Liverpool in 2025, aiming to compete for the coveted No. 1 spot at Anfield.

The arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili in 2025 is expected to add pressure on Liverpool’s current No. 1, Alisson.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has remained consistent for the Reds, keeping two clean sheets in the first two Premier League games this season.

Alisson appears unfazed by the impending competition, having given his approval of Mamardashvili’s signing.

In a recent interview, he said, “I think it was a good idea. I knew about [Mamardashvili] before it came out on social media, and that is a good message for me because the club cares about what I think.

They are doing the right thing in my view. As long as I am happy here and the club is happy with me, I will stay.”

Mamardashvili had an excellent Euro 2024 campaign helping Georgia reach the knockout stages and kept 13 clean sheets in 37 La Liga matches last season.

His arrival in 2025 will undoubedly add depth to Liverpool’s goalkeeping options.
