Gombe United coach, Aliyu Zubairu, has revealed the method his side deployed in putting an end to Remo Stars’s unbeaten run.
Zubairu made this known while speaking to the media following their 1-nil win against the Ogun State based club.
The Sky Blue Stars prior to Sunday’s date had remained unbeaten with six wins and five draws from eleven matches.
But on Sunday in Gombe, they were pipped by Aliyu Zubairu’s side in the matchday twelve of the 2021-2022 NPFL season.
Speaking after the game, Zubairu noted that not giving Remo Stars the breathing space is a key to making sure they ended their unbeaten run.
“They are good side but we have played against tougher oppositions here; the likes of Enyimba and Lobi Stars and Nigeria Tornadoes. I know their mode of operations and how they approach their matches, that’s why we went on them before they settled.”
He further applauded his players for their doggedness and resilient despite the long journeys week in-week out.
“It’s not easy travelling long distance; we just came back on Friday from Heartland, we just have one day to prepare for Remo.It is not easy, i must commend the boys.”
Coach Aliyu Zubairu said they are going to Uyo for the maximum points against Dakkada FC.
