Rivers State Commissioner Slams NFF Over Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium Rejection

Rivers State Commissioner for Sports, Chris Green, accuses the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) of not showing up to inspect the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt to host the group stage matches of Rivers United in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The NFF had previously refused to approve the stadium due to its failure to meet certain requirements set by CAF.

In response, Green accused NFF officials of not caring about their job as they did not come for inspection.

However, General Secretary of the NFF Mohammed Sanusi refused to comment on this matter saying that the NFF has done its job properly.

Nevertheless, the upcoming games will be played in Uyo’s Godswill Akpabio International Stadium which hosted last season’s CAF Confederation Cup final match between RSB Berkane and Orlando Pirates.
