PSG Ordered to Compensate Mbappe €55 Million for Unpaid Wages

The LFP appeals committee has ruled that Paris Saint-Germain must pay €55 million ($59.5 million) to former player Kylian Mbappe for unpaid wages and bonuses.

This decision, reported by French media, upholds an earlier ruling from the LFP’s legal commission in September.

PSG had contested the ruling, claiming they did not owe Mbappe any money, but after a hearing on October 15, the committee reaffirmed its stance.

This decision is a pivotal moment not only for Mbappe but also for the future of PSG as they navigate financial responsibilities amid contract disputes.

After leaving PSG for a five-year contract with Spanish club Real Madrid in July, Mbappe had rejected a mediation offer from the French club, seeking full settlement from the club.

During his seven years at PSG, he achieved remarkable success, securing six league titles and contributing to France’s victory at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

With the appeals committee’s decision final, PSG faces a significant financial obligation to their former star.

The financial implications of this ruling may influence PSG’s strategies going forward, especially concerning player contracts and financial governance within the club.
