Napoli are reportedly angry with rumoured Arsenal target Victor Osimhen, who is yet to return to the Serie A side following the end of the March international break.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian giants are ‘furious’ at their star striker after Osimhen failed to return to Naples from Nigeria after the international break, with the forward’s antics causing a sense of irritation amongst his club teammates.
The 23-year-old attacker was part of the Super Eagles side that were eliminated from FIFA World Cup qualifying by Ghana.
And now, the Nigerian has failed to return to Italy after his country’s elimination from the World Cup, an issue which does not bode well for Osimhen’s future at Napoli, with Arsenal said to be interested in the striker.
As reported by Napoli Piu, the Gunners are plotting a bid for the former LOSC Lille star this summer, with the Serie A side only willing to sell Osimhen in the upcoming transfer window for a club-record €100m (£84m).
Indeed, given Arsenal’s desperate need for a star striker this summer, Osimhen could be a sensational addition to the club, and the forward’s antics this weekend can only hint that the 23-year-old is not too pleased about returning to Napoli for the remainder of the season.
