Manchester United relieved some pressure on manager Erik ten Hag with a 3-0 victory over Southampton at St. Mary’s.

Goals from Matthijs de Ligt, Marcus Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho secured the win, although United had to overcome a difficult start.

Southampton could have taken an early lead, but Andre Onana saved a penalty from Cameron Archer, preventing United from falling behind.

United capitalized on this momentum, with De Ligt scoring his first goal for the club and Rashford ending a six-month goal drought just before half-time.

Southampton’s chances were further diminished when captain Jack Stephens was sent off for a reckless challenge on Garnacho, who later sealed the victory in stoppage time.

Despite a strong start and teenager Tyler Dibling impressing on his Premier League debut, Southampton’s inability to capitalize on chances and their second-half struggles ultimately handed United a comfortable win.
