Gabby Agbonlahor, an Icon of the Aston Villa football team, has strongly criticised Chelsea manager Graham Potter after his team’s woeful performance in both the Premier League and Champions League recently.
After a 1-0 home defeat to bottom-of-the-table Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Agbonlahor was furious with how Potter spoke in his post match interview where he offered excuses for starting certain players citing their commitments in the Champions League.
Agbonlahor said “He should be sacked for that post-match interview – what are you talking about? haven’t got a manager,” insinuating Potter had no business making those kinds of excuses.
The 47-year-old has been tasked to help Chelsea through this troubling period but if results continue to not go their way, Agbonlahor could get his wish of seeing Potter sacked from his post in the near future.
